In this brown bag presentation, museum curators Michèle Seehafer, Hanne Kolind Poulsen, Henrik Holm, and Hilde Østergaard will share insights into the ongoing process of rehanging the permanent European Art collection (1300–1800) at the Statens Museum for Kunst. The collection, which includes approximately 2300 paintings and sculptures, features a strong emphasis on Flemish and Dutch art, particularly from the Baroque period.
Join us for a preview of the project and an opportunity to discuss the evolving concepts and ideas behind the rehanging. The presentation will cover the principles guiding the new display, the challenges encountered during the process, and the decisions being made along the way.
The presentation will be online, but you are welcome to join physically at Aarhus University where we will meet in room 1580-214 to share lunch while hearing the presentation.
