The degree programme 'Museology: Curation and Cultural Heritage' is the title of the supplementary subject which Bachelor's students can choose at AU. Here, researchers from Centre for Museology teach society's use and preservation of cultural and natural heritage. The students come from many different subject areas, and there is therefore a rich interdisciplinary environment on the programme. The teaching consists, among other things of lectures, group work and excursions to cultural institutions. The programme lasts for one year and includes the following courses: 'Institutions and exhibitions', 'Curation and users' and 'Cultural heritage and digitality'. The supplementary subject is concluded with a two-month placement at a Danish or international cultural institution, e.g., a museum, an archive, an exhibition venue or a cultural centre.

Field of practice

The field of practice

During the internship, the student will work with specific issues at a cultural institution. Over the years, Centre for Museology have worked with a wide range of institutions, especially museums, in Denmark and abroad. For cultural institutions, the internship is an opportunity to get a student's assistance in relation to specific issues.

If you as a cultural institution are interested in collaborating with a student on a practical internship, please contact Ane Hejlskov Larsen.
