In this presentation professor Heather King will share findings and insights from recent research studies and teaching interventions in both school and museum settings aimed at foregrounding embodied engagement and emotional responses to teaching and learning in STEM.
In Heather King’s research, she studies how educators encourage learner engagement with science in a wide range of settings, including schools, museums, natural environments, and maker-spaces. Her work also focuses on social and environmental justice in science education.
She is co-chair of the Science and Technology Education Research Group at King's College London, where she teaches STEM education leadership, STEM making and creating, and education in arts and cultural settings. She also serves as Vice President for Education at the British Science Association.
The seminar will be conducted in English.
